The President's Message

April 2008

Paul Westefer

GOOD NEWS! Michael Shalkey's Special Interest Group meetings following the monthly CIPCUG meetings have found a new home. Through the efforts of John Weigle, TOE editor, The Star has agreed to allow CIPCUG to use its facilities without charge provided John Weigle is there for security purposes. John has graciously agreed. The first meeting at the new location took place following the March regular meeting. I attended and found the location quite suitable for our purposes. It takes only a short time to get there. The parking lot, which is at the front of the building, has plenty of spaces.

The room is just to the right of the main entrance. It will hold more persons than usually attend a SIG. The seats are comfortable, the lighting is good, and there are tables to use for taking notes. The only thing we don't have is individual computers. Check the April issue of the TOE or www.cipcug for the April 26 topic. Meetings begin at 1:30 p.m., which will give you time to eat on the way, or you may bring food and beverages to the meeting provided you dispose of the trash.

If you come to The Star building directly from the CIPCUG meeting, the fastest route is left out of the parking lot, right on Lewis to the northbound 101 freeway, off to the left at Las Posas (don't stay in the extreme left lane, it goes to a park and ride), turn left on Ventura Boulevard past the Edwards Cinema to Camarillo Center Drive, turn right to The Star building on your left (it's is a large building with STAR in large letters).

The address is 550 Camarillo Center Drive. If you miss Ventura Boulevard or are coming from the other direction on Las Posas, there is a stop light where Camarillo Center Drive meets Las Posas. Just take the Drive to 550, which will be on your right. Many of you will be familiar with the area as the Camarillo Premium Outlets is just across the street from The Star.
