The President's Message

June 2015

May gray, June gloom. Who can complain? I certainly won’t. At least there is some moisture in the air! I heard there is an El Niño forming and that is why there is record rainfall in Texas. Later this year, we may see similar rainfall here! Hooray!

The elections were held in May, and the winners are by acclamation:
President: Lisa Toth
Vice President: Craig Ladd
Secretary: Bob Dinsmore
Treasurer: Andy Toth
Sandy Tsutsui-Trujillo: immediate past president.

Their terms begin this month. Other members of the board fill appointed positions.

I’m happy appointed positions will remain as before. I’ve long held the position that the job of president is the easiest position in an organization. It is the rest of the board and the appointed members who do the heavy lifting. I am always grateful for the core of people who keep an organization going.

May’s presentation was great. I learned about OneNote and Here maps and have downloaded them to my iPad. I found I had OneNote on my computer already but did not know it. Now I just need to read the transcript to remember the ins and outs of how to use these applications.

I urge members to attend the meetings, where you can get your questions answered in the Q&A and learn something new in the presentation each month. Not to mention we always have great prizes in the raffles.

Happy computing!
