The President's Message

David Harris

Last month's meeting demonstrated how flexible our club is. I believe there is no obstacle we can't overcome. I have to apologize for the quality of the image projected on the gymnasium wall for my presentation, but "the show must go on." Quite a few members asked if I could do it again with a better view. I will give the presentation again at a coming SIG.

Speaking about SIGs, your board feels that we could increase attendance and hopefully attract more presenters if we held SIGs in Camarillo and avoid night driving, especially during the dark winter months. We have come up with an alternative. We are going to hold a SIG directly after the regular meetings in January and February. They will be held in a private room at Roundtable Pizza in Camarillo. The room is wired for the Internet.

For those who want to attend, we will drive over after our meeting. You may order lunch if desired, and then we will have our presentation. I will give the Google presentation again in January and a security presentation in February. Depending on the acceptance of the club shown by attendance we could continue these after-our-general-meeting Saturday SIGs as long as there is interest. In fact, we could hold all of our SIGs at the Roundtable if the members wanted to.

Now that Thanksgiving is over and we have the December holidays to look forward to, I want to wish all members on the board's behalf a very happy, healthy, safe holiday season and only the best for 2005.
